“Different, but Together” turns European values into real-life experiences through knowledge, creativity, encounters and active participation. From preparing the partner teams to the art camps, the online campaign and the final festival, every activity follows one common direction: greater visibility, participation and a stronger sense of belonging for young people with disabilities.
Activity 1: Organisation, Coordination and the #DifferentButTogether Online Platform
During the initial stage, the four partner organisations establish the common framework for implementing the project – defining roles and responsibilities, planning the activities and coordinating their work.
The #DifferentButTogether online platform has also been created as the project’s shared digital space. It presents the initiative, the partners and the activities and includes an online gallery where participants’ artworks and stories will be published.
Activity 2: Working Meeting and Training on EU Rights and Values
Representatives of the four partner organisations take part in a three-day training programme dedicated to rights and the fundamental values of the European Union.
The training focuses on human dignity, equality, freedom, tolerance, solidarity, inclusion, active participation and the rights of persons with disabilities.
It prepares the teams to transform these principles from abstract concepts into concrete activities and meaningful experiences for the project participants.
Activity 3: “My Bulgarian Roots, My European Future” – Art Camps for Equality and Solidarity
Art camps will be held in Varna and Burgas for young people aged 18–29, including young people with disabilities.
Through ceramics and clay work, painting and visual arts, textiles and Bulgarian traditional motifs, music, singing, dance and movement, participants will explore the values of dignity, acceptance, equality, tolerance, solidarity and belonging.
The aim is to support young people with disabilities in moving beyond social isolation and becoming active participants and creators – people with their own voices, ideas and talents.
Activity 4: #DifferentButTogether Online Campaign
The participants’ artworks, stories and messages will continue to reach audiences beyond the art camps through the #DifferentButTogether online campaign.
Through the website, online gallery and social media, we will present European values through the participants’ own perspectives – their artworks, experiences and personal messages.
The campaign aims to reach a wider audience and promote equality, acceptance, solidarity and the active participation of persons with disabilities in community and public life.
Activity 5: #VisibleTogether Final Artivism Festival and Reporting
The project will conclude with the #VisibleTogether Final Festival, bringing together participants, partners, organisations and the wider public.
The festival will showcase the artworks, stories, music and creative messages developed throughout the project, placing participants at the centre of the event as creators and ambassadors of the values of equality and human dignity.
The festival will highlight the journey we have made together – from isolation to participation, from difference to belonging, and from values to real action.
